State Bank asia, country’s largest public sector lender, has taken in many new rules because of its customers. The financial institution has become world’s 45thlargest lender after merger with five sister banks and Bharatiya Mahila Bank.

SBI’s new norms pertain to minimum balance requirement in savings bank accounts, amended service charges, cool product tax rates, renewed locker fees, charges for availing new cheque books and much more, according to Zee News.

Most prominent of these changed rules are related to customers who hold savings accounts at metro, urban, semi-urban and rural branches. The bank makes mandatory maintenance of minimum balance in these accounts from April 1.

This is a primer on what the changed rules entail SBI visitors to do.

1) From April 1, all SBI savings bank-account holders will probably be necessary to maintain stipulated minimum balance inside their accounts. The bank has categorised its customers under metro, urban, semi-urban and rural brackets.

2) A minimum balance requirement of Rs 5,000 continues to be fixed for an account holder in a branch in the metro city. Similarly, members in urban, semi-urban and rural SBI bank branches must maintain Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.

3) SBI in addition has formulated new rules for cash transactions particularly at its atm booths. Under new rules, an SBI debit card holder will be allowed five free transactions at its ATMs. Besides, there will be a cost of Rs 20 for any fourth transaction for bank card holders of other banks.

The financial institution begins charging Rs 50 after the first three cash deposits with the month. This limit is prescribed for saving bank accounts.
For current customers the money transaction charges is often as high as Rs 20,000

In urban centers like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru you will see electric power charge of Rs 100 plus service tax, when the balance goes below 75 per cent with the minimum average balance.
When the account holder is falling short of 50 % or fewer of the MAB.

Cash withdrawal from ATMs is going to be charged following the first three transaction for other banks and first five transactions from SBI ATMs.
The account holder is going to be charged Rs 20 after the three transactions using their company bank ATMs and will be charged Rs 10 for withdrawals from SBI ATMs.
There will be no charge on withdrawals from SBI ATMs when the account holder maintains a minimum balance of Rs 25,000
In
Rs 15 is going to be charged for SMS alerts per quarter from bank card holders who manage to maintain average quarterly balance up to Rs 25,000 through the 3 months period.
There won’t be any charge for UPI/ USSD transactions as high as Rs 1000.
