Huntington Beach will be the latest city to interact their citizens like never before with their MyHB mobile app. City officials found that 40% of visitors to the city’s website was from cellular phones. Using features like Government, Beach Information, Experience HB, City News, Upcoming Events, and Services, citizens will see it simpler than ever before to be linked to their city with a couple of taps on the smart phone.
Residents and visitors alike is now able to find information about facilities, libraries, points-of-interest as well as the over 100 parks, together with information, numbers, maps and directions, along with gain access to city council agendas. They could stay informed and up-to-date for the latest happenings and upcoming events through the City News and Upcoming Events sections. The status of requested permits could be checked from the app using the permit number, APN or property address. Beach Info is probably the most visited tabs on the city’s website. Now surfers and beach goers can find out beach conditions by incorporating taps from the Police App. Beach and surf conditions furnished by Surfline are fed in the app daily at 7:05am. Capabilities and processes will periodically be added.
Every month, the town will come with a special tab to focus on a conference or service that is unique to the next month. Dynamic information will probably be time sensitive and ever-changing as events appear and disappear. The first such event could be the city’s upcoming airshow. The app is launching with functionality to advertise the airshow, providing all pertinent event information and including an FAQ section. Available too, will probably be parking information, and Uber and Lyft drop-off and pick-up locations. Citizens can report issues and incidents regarding the airshow which will be received, tracked, and resolved by police and city officials, depending on issue type. The information collected will probably be valuable not just to handle the problems as is also reported but to further improve upon citizen experience for all future events.
Look out for your capacity to Benefit by an Issue through the app, because city intends to replace their current issue reporting provider using the MyCivic RAI as soon as the year.
