I have already been learning Mandarin Chinese more than 5 years now and I’m capable to give tips about how to learn Chinese.
Someone choosing to set about their lifetime journey of Mandarin Chinese learning I really believe should commence with the foundation in the Oriental. They are the phonetics with the language. In my opinion the easiest way how you can learn Mandarin Chinese is to first master all 60 or so of the sounds. I would recommend perhaps spending a couple weeks or even a few months getting each one of these sounds down pat as perfectly as you, before you start out figuring out how to say “hello” or anything else for example. This is monotonous and boring to start with, but you’ll thank yourself years later for doing this.
I personally are already sufficiently fortunate to get have attained an incredibly advanced of Mandarin Chinese pronunciation. I really believe that is partly due to the reality that I spent quite a lot of time polishing my pronunciation noisy . stages. I am unable to stress this enough, because once you build a bad habit in pronunciation it is rather difficult to get rid of, and that is not how you need to learn Chinese.
I would recommend finding a recording, or CD, or something of your native speaker (with perfect “standard” pronunciation) and playing those sounds inside your sleep. I am unable to attest to if it is often a contributing step to my accurate pronunciation, but it IS something Used to early on. At this time I do not believe that it is necessary to discover the 4 tones, as learning new phonetics AND finding out how to add tones to those words is way too much for your brain to carry at one time. Concentrate on one thing at the same time in order not to be overwhelmed.

I might also recommend even if it’s just thinking of learning how to read or write Mandarin Chinese characters at this stage. I do believe the best way tips on how to learn Mandarin Chinese would be to just concentrate on the speaking and listening. Reading and writing will come later and they are the hardest aspects of this language. For that beginning you can easily learn the romanized sort of the text generally known as “PinYin”, the Mandarin Chinese word meaning “Spell Sound/Pronounce”.
The speaking is surprisingly easy in spite of the “difficult” reputation Mandarin Chinese has. I was very surprised when i started to learn how to speak Mandarin Chinese concerning how easy it can be.
So in my view if you need to understand how to learn Mandarin Chinese, begin with principle 60 possibly even phonetics, often known as the “initials/consonants” and “finals/vowels”. Don’t try to learn any actual words till you have those mastered, because once you have mastered those phonetics there’s nothing else to find out through out your lifetime when it comes to pronunciation. Unlike English where even us native speakers should try to learn proper pronunciation of the latest words even as do not have hard and fast rules ie “through” and “tough”, both end in “ough” but the pronunciation is different as well as the sole method to find out is usually to remember. Mandarin Chinese is just not this way, so that’s perfect for us!
