So, who exactly can be an entrepreneur, which are the qualities associated with an entrepreneur?… well Wikipedia says, “An entrepreneur can be a one who has possessing a whole new enterprise, venture or idea and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks as well as the outcome”… umm… okay however i choose to say, that an ideal entrepreneur can be a individual who guides a manpower in order to apply a perception(does not matter if it’s his or someone else and whether it’s new or old) to fulfill those who require the benefits made by it, which ends up in financial outcomes or profits.
Therefore the basic characteristics or qualities associated with an entrepreneur would be:
– He / she should have a thought (again, no matter who originally considered it and whether it’s new or old).
– He / she must have the motivation/urge to pursue or make use of the idea.
– He / she really should have access to manpower as well as to the opportunity to make manpower accessible to him (marketing skills apply here).
– He / she should be an excellent leader.
But then, there are additional kinds of people too who may have some or a lot of the previously listed qualities; but unfortunately we cannot give them a call Entrepreneur. Among this individual might be a scientist. Scientists do have ideas or, put simply, they can actually create ideas. Usually they are excited or motivated about pursuing their ideas with out doubt, these are good leaders also and they, for sure have access to no less than minimal manpower (No, most scientists fail in solitude as shown in movies like Robin Williams’ Flubber or Frankenstein, they have at least 2-10 people working under them as junior scientists). Then again why don’t we call a scientist an entrepreneur as well? Is he an exception to the above definition?… food for thought huh?
And how about a dictator? She has his own or borrowed ideas, He desires to apply them, he’s got usage of man power, can guide them well… actually, they’ll do just about everything he wants. So, does this mean, a dictator is an entrepreneur or, an entrepreneur is a dictator!!
