A brand new 2016 Christmas rock track has been written, created and then recorded in a Phuket recording studio in Thailand by songwriter ‘Mark Hopkins’ with the main purpose of bringing attention and exposure for the Phuket charities and children’s Orphanages that Mark supports. You can listen and read more by going to the Tsunami Day, Phuket site .
The tracks name is: I’m coming home for Christmas and the songs sound is a unique up-tempo rock n roll song. Mark wrote and partially recorded a demo music guide of ‘I’m coming home for Christmas’ in 2015 on Phuket island and has kept the demo track since then looking forward to the opportunity to record once again. In late August 2016 Mark started the studio recording process and used local session players to record the music durring a six week period. The track contains 8 differant tracks and all session players were from the Philippines, including the lead vocalist ‘Micah Javier’.
Although I’m coming home for Christmas was recorded on Phuket the mixing and mastering was done in the United States because of Mark wanted the most effective result and quality. The song ready to be listened to and downloaded by visiting the ‘Tsunami Day’ site.
The main goal of studio recording I’m coming home for Xmas is to bring as many people to the Tsunami Day website as we can and then hopefully in-turn they will be kind enough to contribute to at least one or every one of the Phuket charities, and to also download the song.
Another definitive goal is to be able enough downloads of the tune to fund and create a Phuket live music pub with open stage and studio / teaching room on Phuket, that will offer free lessons and tuition to local underprivileged children from the neighborhood schools and children’s orphanages. To date ‘La QingTing’ isn’t currently open yet but the website is below. (QingTing means: Dragon Fly in Chinese if you are wondering).
About: Mark set-up the Tsunami Day internet site to promote his tune Tsunami Day that was influenced from his own personal experiences while he was working in Patong in 2004 once the Tsunami hit Patong on boxing day. Just like ‘I’m Coming Home For Xmas’the track Tsunami Day also brought awareness to local Phuket Charities and . On the ‘Tsunami Day’ web site there’s numerous methods to help including a Phuket Resort and cheap flights to Thailand booking system. Every cent helps.
